It has been a pleasure working at calfordseaden and from the moment I joined I was made to feel part of the team. From day one your contribution really counts in both your work and in all the social events organised throughout the year.
I joined calfordseaden as an Administrator Assistant eight years ago and have worked my way up to my current position of Senior Secretary. calfordseaden supported and encouraged my decision to become a secretary and provided the necessary training.
Joining calfordseaden as a Graduate Structural Engineer has been a great privilege. Being a multi-disciplinary Practice means I have immediate access to other disciplines that are able to help me develop structural solutions and further develop my career in a supportive and friendly environment.
There is a great positive working environment at calfordseaden. My team are really great and so supportive, they’re always helping me learn and develop my career.
I work with a great team of surveyors and the work we are involved with is of a great variety. I enjoy my job especially when going on site and building relationships with contractors is why I love coming to work and developing my role.
The staff are ever so friendly and the engineers are incredibly knowledgeable; pushing my personal development to the highest limit. Plus, the number of social events that calfordseaden offer makes it a wonderful company to work for.
We understand that by looking after our employees we will attract and keep the best people.
That is why we offer a competitive salary and benefits package. We also provide a generous holiday allowance, so you can let off steam, and for that extra bit of flexibility, you even have the option to take extra holiday. Recognising that one size doesn’t necessarily fit all we try to cater to everyone’s needs. That’s why we supply childcare vouchers, free eye tests and a cycle to work scheme. We also offer a staff pension and life assurance scheme, discretionary company car and private medical insurance schemes.
Having fun is an integral part of working for calfordseaden.
That’s why we have our very own Sports and Social Team who arrange events and activities that bring the whole company together. In addition to the annual summer BBQ and Christmas party, the team has also arranged theatre trips, restaurant events and for the more active among us, activities such as go-karting, snowboarding and even bubble football! We also hold regular office charity events, so you can feel good about giving something back whilst having fun!
The biggest event in the calendar by far is our Summer Event. Past years have seen us taking over London Zoo, travelling by Eurostar for lunch in Paris and a day of team building activities followed by an evening of bumper cars and music!

Our aim is to realise the potential in every individual so we provide the support to make sure that happens. The training provided ranges from our programme of in-house CPD seminars, delivered by industry leaders, support for Assessment of Professional Competence (APC) right through to sponsorship to study for a PhD.
Don’t just take our word for it, here’s what some of our team have to say about their experience.
Continued professional development is a key part of life at calfordseaden. For people looking to develop their career as a Chartered Surveyor, as a firm we offer high quality training and support and guidance from RICS members and assessors to help you succeed in your assessment of professional competence and pathway to becoming a Chartered Surveyor.
I’ve been working for calfordseaden for over 10 years and can honestly say it has been the best career choice I could have made. calfordseaden supported me through my degree in Quantity Surveying as well as my Masters and throughout my APC help was on hand if I ever needed it. Now I’m a Chartered Surveyor heading up a team of five and I have calfordseaden to thank for it.
Since joining calfordseaden as a Graduate Engineer eight years ago, I have been provided with the encouragement, opportunities and pathways to realise my ambitions. Within my time at calfordseaden I have risen to an Associate level and have obtained a Masters degree, Chartered Engineer status and now fulfilling a lifelong goal of conducting my own PhD research. At calfordseaden there is no limit beyond your own ambitions.
I joined calfordseaden in 2008 as a Defects Coordinator with the vision of expanding my knowledge in construction. With calfordseaden’s support, I enrolled onto a HNC in Building Studies which led onto a degree in Quantity Surveying. I now work as an Employer’s Agent, managing a variety of schemes and I thoroughly enjoy my job and thank calfordseaden and my colleagues for the continual encouragement and assistance they provide for me to achieve my career goals.
As a recent graduate from Anglia Ruskin University and benefitting from calfordseaden’s day release programme, I can honestly say that working full time whilst studying has been one of the best decisions I have made. It has allowed me to gain both theoretical and practical experience concurrently which has enhanced my learning as a Quantity Surveyor. The next step is to complete my APC so that I can become a Chartered Surveyor.

I am currently halfway through my MSc Building Surveying course at London Southbank University and working at calfordseaden alongside has been of huge benefit. The staff are brilliant, with support groups for candidates undertaking their APC qualifications a notable attribute and through studying part-time, I have been able to combine the theoretical knowledge learnt within lectures with the practical experience of working in the construction industry.
I joined calfordseaden 10 years ago and my role has developed in that time. I joined as an Administrator but quickly began a Defects course, qualifying as a Defects Coordinator. I was then offered further training for a new role in the Sustainability team and through calfordseaden am now a qualified Code for Sustainable Homes and Home Quality Mark assessor.
