Adam is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor with over 10 years’ experience and is based in our London office.

He has extensive experience undertaking feasibility studies, developing cost plans, establishing change control procedures, managing procurement and contract documentation, cost monitoring and reporting, and project management until project completion. Adam also leads in the company’s benchmarking cost database, ensuring that tendered projects are submitted to the Building Cost Information Service (BCIS) for analysis.

Adam takes an active role in training members of staff to help them achieve their professional qualification and is an Assessment of Professional Competence (APC) Assessor for RICS.

Alex is an Equity Partner with 25 years of experience. He joined the Practice in 2008 and became an Equity Partner in 2018.

During his career Alex has worked across private and public sectors, acting for commercial and residential clients within both the refurbishment and new build arenas. His experience has included managing multi-disciplinary project teams as well as Employer’s Agent, Building Surveying, Clerk of Works and Rights to Light / Daylight and Sunlight services on behalf of the Practice.  Alex is also actively involved with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors having been appointed as an APC assessor in 2014

Alex has a proven track record of sourcing land and opportunities for our clients, including housing associations, housebuilders, and institutional investors. Leveraging his extensive network at local and national levels, he is often the first choice for our clients due to his ability to source the right deal.

His contacts include landowners, agents, developers, contractors, local authorities, and more. Given his previous experience in housebuilding, Alex provides crucial advice during negotiations, ensuring clarity in contractual positions. He facilitates due diligence stages, ensuring robust proposals for our clients, and can identify and introduce new development opportunities, forming partnerships via joint ventures, bulk sales, s106 acquisitions/disposals, and funding opportunities.

Alison is a Chartered Building Surveyor with over 20 years’ experience, including more than a decade post-qualification. She delivers a broad range of surveying services across diverse client portfolios and is known for her clear communication and collaborative approach. Alison has led multi-disciplinary teams and built strong client relationships, with particular experience in internal and external refurbishment projects across various building types, including historic properties.

Angela is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor with over 40 years experience who undertakes the roles of Client Representative and Employer’s Agent.

She is responsible for keeping the Practice up to date with: Building Regulations, Housing Standards, HCS, and GLA funding requirements.

Angela is proactive in the championing of gender equality in the industry and supporting women in their careers and is involved with several industry initiatives and networking groups, including WISH (Women in Social Housing).

Anthony provides CDM (Construction Design and Management) advice to clients and serves as the CDM Principal Designer. His involvement in recent projects varies in terms of value, duration, and size.

On a daily basis, Anthony’s activities include submitting HSE (Health, Safety, and Environmental) notifications, conducting site risk and environmental assessments, preparing pre-construction information, creating a range of designs, and organising and chairing risk workshops. He acts as a liaison between all parties involved, reviews or compiles Health and Safety Files, assesses Construction Phase Plans (CPP), and assists clients in maintaining and reviewing health and safety arrangements throughout the project.

Barry is a qualified Architect and Project Manager with over 25 years’ experience of delivery and leadership across the Development process, including: residential; high rise; mixed-use; and Build to Rent.

He worked as a Technical Director on the Operational Board of a major London developer for 17 years, with experience acting across the Development process steering schemes through, Planning and Contract phases, to ensure smooth Operational delivery leading to full compliance at completion.

Ben is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor and leads our Quantity Surveying services in our Essex office.

He has extensive experience delivering commercial and contractual advice across a range of construction sectors, and works collaboratively with clients, consultants, and contractors, bringing a strong commercial focus and a commitment to delivering value at every stage of a project.

Ben takes an active role in training members of staff to help them achieve their professional qualification and is a trained RICS Assessor and Counsellor.

Ben is an Equity Partner and Chartered Surveyor with over 25 years’ experience. Ben has worked within a wide variety of sectors which has led to a particular passion for mixed use schemes, with an emphasis on maximising cross-subsidy to generate viable development solutions.  Likewise Ben has developed a focus upon Joint Venture arrangements covering various roles within that form of procurement.  Finally, Ben acts as Equity Partner responsible for our Land & Partnerships services.

Bob is a Civil and Structural Engineer with over 25 years’ experience and heads our Structural Engineering Group.

Bob has experience of design in all major structural elements across a very broad range of project types and sectors.

Chris is is the Head of Health & Safety consultancy services at calfordseaden.

After starting his career with The Health and Safety Executive in 2001, Chris has worked for a number of practices at home and abroad, joining calfordseaden as Partner and Head of Health & Safety in 2019.

Chris is passionate about changing the perception of CDM and health and safety within the industry.

Chris is an experienced Building Services Engineer with over 35 years of expertise in leading multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects across residential, health, education, and commercial sectors in both new construction and regeneration environments. With a strong focus on integrated sustainability and digital services, Chris has been instrumental in delivering award-winning projects in the UK and overseas.

Clare is a Chartered Building Surveyor with over 25 years experience. Clare provides Employer’s Agent services to private and affordable residential, extra care, student accommodation, and commercial schemes.

Daniel is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor and Project Manager with 16 years’ experience.

Dan heads up the Quantity Surveying services in Orpington and has delivered a broad range of projects across all sectors.

Dave is a Partner and Chartered Building Surveyor.

Dave has a wealth of experience in the identification, diagnosis and remedy of a broad range of defects in both the structure and fabric of buildings, ranging from domestic dwellings through public buildings, commercial properties and industrial premises.

David is a Chartered Building Surveyor and heads up the Employer’s Agent services in our Southend Office.

David has been involved in the complete spectrum of Building Surveying work. His project portfolio includes projects ranging from £1m to £210m Design and Build schemes for both private and Registered Provider Clients.

David is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor with experience across residential, retail, education, and commercial projects. He delivers cost management from inception to final account, including lifecycle costing, pre-contract planning, procurement, and post-contract control. David has worked on high-profile projects such as the UK’s largest M25 filling station and prestigious educational facilities in Kent, bringing expertise in both new-build and refurbishment schemes under JCT contracts.

Dean leads our Site Inspection services and oversees our team of Clerk of Works and Quality Technical Inspectors.

With over 30 years’ experience as a senior construction professional, Dean is widely recognised for his hands-on, proactive, and solution focused approach, with the ability to lead, motivate, and unite high-performing teams to achieve operational excellence.

He is a Fellow Member of the Association of Construction Quality Professionals (ACQP) and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB), recognising his significant industry contributions and expertise.

Chris is a Chartered Mechanical Engineer with over 14 years’ experience, and  he heads up our M&E services.

Chris acts in the capacity of Mechanical Engineer and Sustainability Advisor and provides advice on a range of passive design measures, integration of low and renewable technologies and post occupancy performance. This enables him to provide project and client specific approaches to achieving both planning reduction targets and BREEAM standards.

Chris completed a PhD with the University of Cambridge, conducting research into the Energy Performance Gap in Low Energy Housing.

Farrokh has over 15 years of experience in fire safety, including firefighting and fire safety consultation in the UK and the Middle East. He has managed a team of fire engineers and specialists, delivering innovative solutions for various projects. His passion for fire and risk engineering comes from his background as a firefighter and investigation officer. Farrokh holds a Master’s Degree in Fire Safety Engineering from the University of Central Lancashire and is a member of various professional organisations. He also serves as a STEM ambassador, mentors at Migrant Leaders, and raises funds for The Firefighters Charity, aiming to create safer buildings and communities.

Greg is an experienced Employer’s Agent and Building Surveyor with over 20 years of experience. He brings a wealth of experience in technical aspects of construction and contractual procedures, which adds value to his clients.

Greg has extensive experience in the Housing and Education sectors. In addition to his roles as an Employers Agent and Contract Administrator, he also has experience in providing professional Building Surveying services.

As an Employer’s Agent, Greg has worked on a wide range of projects, from small schemes to large, complex regeneration schemes.

Guy is a Chartered Building surveyor and Project Manager.

Guy is an authority in the social housing sector, with particular emphasis on compliance with the Homes and Communities Agency’s funding requirements.

Guy has considerable knowledge with regards to providing new social housing and has expanded his field of expertise to encapsulate the design, detailing and the usability of homes.

Ian is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor who has extensive experience of working with registered social landlords and specialises in new build housing for rent and sale.

His particular expertise is in the administration of multi-million pound developments including wheelchair, elderly and special needs units, procured on a design and build or partnering basis. .

Jacqui is a Quantity Surveyor and Employer’s Agent who specialises in housing of all tenure types and has extensive experience in the administration of multi-million pound contracts for Consortia and individual RP and Local Authority Clients.

Jacqui’s  experience encompasses new build and refurbishment schemes incorporating wheelchair and supported/special needs housing as well as Listed Buildings and developments within the leisure and health care sectors.

James completed his MSc in Quantity Surveying in 2010 and became a Chartered Project Manager (MRICS) in 2016. With experience gained across both developer and consultancy environments, he brings a strong track record of working with a wide range of clients, consultant teams, and contractors. James has extensive expertise in post-contract Project Management (PM), acting as Employer’s Agent and providing PM support on major new build and refurbishment projects across London. His experience is particularly strong in the residential and retail/regeneration sectors.

James is a Partner, Chartered Building Surveyor, and Employer’s Agent with over 20 years in the industry.

James has extensive experience of delivering both private and public residential developments throughout London and the Southeast for Local Authorities, Housing Associations and Private clients. He also has an unwavering passion for sustainability including Passivhaus, and strives to drive positive change.

Jeremy is a Chartered Building Surveyor with over twenty years’ experience in the construction industry.

Jeremy is an Associate Member of the Institute of Fire Engineers, a Member of the Institute of Fire Safety Managers and has completed the ASFP course in Passive Fire Protection and the ABBE Level 6 Award in External Wall System Assessment

Jonathan has developed a strong reputation as an Employers Agent and Project Manager, leading a range of high profile developments and regeneration schemes across London. A strategic focus and strong communication skills have equipped him to be an accomplished JV Supervisor. He has spoken in various seminars and led workshops with fellow professionals, clients and lawyers. Having joined the equity at calfordseaden in 2023 he leads in a number of internal and external facing areas of the business.

Liam is a Chartered Building Surveyor and provides Employer’s Agent and Project Management services across a wide range of sectors.

His project portfolio includes private and affordable residential, extra care, commercial and public sector schemes.

Mark Watts is an experienced Cost Manager, Project Manager, and Employer’s Agent based in our Cambridge office, bringing over 20 years of expertise across residential and commercial sectors.

Working closely with developers, local authorities, and housing associations, Mark has successfully delivered a wide range of new-build and refurbishment projects. He has extensive experience leading projects through all RIBA stages, from initial feasibility, business case development, and procurement strategy through to contract administration, project delivery, and final account settlement.

Mark is passionate about helping clients achieve their objectives and is committed to delivering commercially sound, well-managed projects that provide value for money.

Matthew Smith is a Partner, Employer’s Agent and Chartered Building Surveyor with over 25 years’ experience in the industry.

Matthew has extensive experience in delivering both new build and refurbishment residential projects, and commercial schemes. Successfully delivered projects range from smaller, complex infill and garage sites through to strategic development sites delivered across multiple phases and over several years.

Matthew’s ability to deliver the highest level of client-focus across projects has developed through his involvement many high-profile schemes and developments from inception through to completion.

Maz is a development engineering professional qualified in both Civil Engineering (BSc Eng) and Water Resources Engineering (MSc Eng, PG Dip). Maz has over 18 years’ experience in the infrastructure design and management of major development projects, ensuring the best design solutions are achieved whilst maintaining the key design concept throughout the project life cycle by resolving buildability, safety, cost and programme. Maz has had a key role in projects involving design for infrastructures, flood risk assessment, flood mitigation, environment impact assessment and has a key expertise to find simple solutions to unlock difficult sites for developments.

Michael is a Partner and Chartered Project Manager at calfordseaden. Used to leading both internal and project teams, Michael has excellent project management skills which ensures that he is able to motivate teams to focus on achieving success on projects, whilst creating a collaborative environment.

Pierre has extensive experience in all aspects of surveying work. He has served as a lead consultant, contract administrator, and project manager from the project’s inception to its completion. His expertise includes specification writing for a variety of new build, maintenance, and refurbishment projects, feasibility production, budget estimating, stock condition surveys, contract administration, and building pathology.

Pierre also acts as Principal Designer. His duties include reviewing health and safety competency/ resources, preparing Information Packs and ensuring that Health and Safety Files are completed and issued in accordance with the Regulations.

Richard is a Partner and Senior Building Surveyor who has over 25 years’ experience and provides the services of Employer’s Agent, Project Manager and Party Wall Surveyor.
Richard has a range of experience dealing with Design & Build Contracts acting as Employer’s Agent/Project Manager on new build housing and education projects, covering pre and post contract duties to end of defects and agreement of Final Accounts. He also acts as Contract Administrator for a number of public sector Clients.

Richard is an Equity Partner and Senior Building Surveyor with over 20 years’ experience. Services provided by Richard’s team include Party Wall matters and Expert Witness work. In addition the team undertakes defects analysis, dilapidations advice, fire insurance valuations, planned preventative maintenance surveys, as well as running refurbishment/repair projects for a wide variety of clients and building types.

Rizwan is a highly driven environmentally conscious Architect. He has led the delivery of complex, high profile design-led commercial projects in the energy, power & process, hospitality, retail, community, mixed-use, government, residential, commercial, education and transportation sectors. In doing so, he has kept to strict timelines and budgets, and to the required high quality all the way from enquiry, inception to construction completion and handover.

Simon is a Partner within the practice and a Chartered Building Surveyor.

Simon has over 20 years’ experience and is a MRICS qualified Project Manager specialising in leading the delivery of projects within the residential, student accommodation and retail sectors. He is adept at Project Managing schemes for a wide variety of Clients focussing on their key drivers for successful delivery.

Simon has extensive experience in new build social housing having worked with many registered social landlords on schemes across London and the South East, on mixed use schemes up to £400m in value.

Steve joined calfordseaden in 2019 and has since been promoted to Principal Lift Consultant. He provides expert consultancy for major housing associations and local authorities, including Hyde Housing, Southern Housing Group, and Enfield Borough Council. Steve leads on complex lift projects, from managing tenders to overseeing construction phases – most notably, several high-rise Firefighters Lifts for PA Housing. His work also includes navigating Building Safety Regulator processes, ensuring full compliance and smooth project delivery.

With over four decades of industry experience, Steve brings exceptional strengths in time and financial management, contract oversight, and health and safety compliance, including asbestos awareness. His practical, solutions-focused approach and extensive technical knowledge have made him a trusted advisor on both maintenance and new-build lift projects, consistently ensuring quality, safety, and value across every stage.

Steven is a Partner and Chartered Quantity Surveyor with over 30 years’ experience. He is a professional, commercial and astute manager who is by nature an integrative leader and uses persuasion coupled with fact to achieve outcomes in a client’s best interest.

Tim Jackson is a Partner and Chartered Building Surveyor at calfordseaden with over 20 years’ experience in the industry. Tim heads up calfordseaden’s Clerk of Works service, and is responsible for identifying and managing resources for Clerk of Works commissions, overseeing and reviewing projects.

In 2019, Tim was accepted as an Associate Member of the Institution of Fire Engineers. As an advocate for improved passive fire protection in the industry, Tim is well equipped to provide insight into the impact of current regulation and how to address fire risk on buildings. Tim is keen to share his knowledge in order to push the sector forward and regularly presents seminars focusing on Fire Safety to equip industry members with the tools to drive positive change.

Tim is a Chartered Architect with nearly 30 years of experience delivering successful projects across the UK. As Head of Architecture and lead for our Birmingham office, he provides strategic direction and is responsible for delivering several nationwide framework agreements.

His extensive portfolio includes master planning, regeneration, residential, retail, commercial, industrial, education, heritage and conservation, and community developments. His experience enables him to effectively balance quality design, technical excellence, and attention to detail.

Tim takes a collaborative and client-focused approach to every project. He is committed to delivering practical, high-quality solutions that provide lasting value for clients, stakeholders, and communities.
