Alex is an Equity Partner of the Practice with 20 years’ experience. He is a Chartered Building Surveyor and heads up the Orpington Building Surveying group.
Alex is actively involved with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors having been appointed as an assessor for the Senior Professional APC route in 2014.
Alex’s team offers the full range of building surveying and site inspection services.
Andrew is Chartered Quantity Surveyor with over 36 years’ experience in the industry and over 10 years of Project Management experience.
Andrew has assumed the role of Lead Project and Cost Manager on numerous housing led regeneration schemes, encompassing affordable housing, private sale homes, health and leisure centres and commercial office spaces.
Andrew is a Chartered Electrical Engineer with strong experience of electrical design within the residential and commercial sectors.
His project portfolio encompasses concept, performance, and full design for all forms of housing, including: affordable, private for sale, extra care, supported and keyworker housing.
He also has a proven track record in educational and custodial projects, delivering schemes for Local Authorities, Contractors and PFI partnerships.
Angela is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor with over 40 years experience who undertakes the roles of Client Representative and Employer’s Agent.
She is responsible for keeping the Practice up to date with: Building Regulations, Housing Standards, HCS, and GLA funding requirements.
Angela is proactive in the championing of gender equality in the industry and supporting women in their careers and is involved with several industry initiatives and networking groups, including WISH (Women in Social Housing).
Anna is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor and carries out the role of Employer’s Agent.
She is experienced in working with Registered Housing Providers and specialises in new build housing for rent and sale, procured on a design and build or partnering basis.
Anna has previously been an active board member of RICS Matrics UK where she was involved in changing the face of RICS to inspire the next generation and improve the wider profession.
Anna was shortlisted for RICS Young Surveyor of the Year 2015 and received the honour of being RICS Matrics Chair 2018-2019.
Ashley is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor. His primary role is in the field of Commercial Building Surveying for clients in the office, industrial and retail sectors.
Ashley was instrumental in the launch of our Midlands office in 2000.
Barry is a qualified Architect and Project Manager with over 25 years’ experience of delivery and leadership across the Development process, including: residential; high rise; mixed-use; and Build to Rent.
He worked as a Technical Director on the Operational Board of a major London developer for 17 years, with experience acting across the Development process steering schemes through, Planning and Contract phases, to ensure smooth Operational delivery leading to full compliance at completion.
Ben is an Equity Partner and Chartered Project Manager with 20 years’ experience. Ben has worked within a wide variety of sectors which has led to a particular passion for mixed use schemes, with an emphasis on maximising cross-subsidy to generate viable development solutions.
Bob is a Civil and Structural Engineer with over 25 years’ experience and heads our Structural Engineering Group.
Bob has experience of design in all major structural elements across a very broad range of project types and sectors.
Charles is a Chartered Building Surveyor with 23 years experience. Since taking up a role as a Graduate Building Surveyor Charles has worked on Education, Police Authority, Private and Social Housing projects and brings a wide range of experience and a robust understanding of a clients’ objectives and expectations.
Chris is is the Head of Health & Safety consultancy services at calfordseaden.
After starting his career with The Health and Safety Executive in 2001, Chris has worked for a number of practices at home and abroad, joining calfordseaden as Partner and Head of Health & Safety in 2019.
Chris is passionate about changing the perception of CDM and health and safety within the industry.
Daniel is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor and Project Manager with 16 years’ experience.
Dan heads up the Quantity Surveying services in Orpington and has delivered a broad range of projects across all sectors.
Darren is a Partner and Chartered Building Surveyor with over 30 years of professional experience in the industry.
He particularly focuses on the post contract management and successful delivery of large scale regeneration and multi-site schemes.
Darren also has substantial experience in acting as Employer’s Agent services for Section 106 Developer led projects.
Dave is a Partner and Chartered Building Surveyor.
Dave has a wealth of experience in the identification, diagnosis and remedy of a broad range of defects in both the structure and fabric of buildings, ranging from domestic dwellings through public buildings, commercial properties and industrial premises.
David is a Chartered Building Surveyor and heads up the Employer’s Agent services in our Southend Office.
David has been involved in the complete spectrum of Building Surveying work. His project portfolio includes projects ranging from £1m to £210m Design and Build schemes for both private and Registered Provider Clients.
Chris is a Chartered Mechanical Engineer with over 8 years’ experience.
Chris acts in the capacity of Mechanical Engineer and Sustainability Advisor and provides advice on a range of passive design measures, integration of low and renewable technologies and post occupancy performance. This enables him to provide project and client specific approaches to achieving both planning reduction targets and BREEAM standards.
Chris completed a PhD with the University of Cambridge, conducting research into the Energy Performance Gap in Low Energy Housing.
Terry is a Partner with over 25 years’ experience and he heads up our M & E Engineering Design and Sustainability groups. Terry has spent around 10 years in the role of Lead Designer managing engineering design teams on a wide range of residential projects.
Grant heads up the M&E team in our Cambridge office. He has extensive experience in all aspects of building services engineering, specialising in the electrical discipline.
He is a full member of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) and the Forum for the Built Environment (FBE) and plays an active role in their local activities.
Guy is a Chartered Building surveyor and Project Manager.
Guy is an authority in the social housing sector, with particular emphasis on compliance with the Homes and Communities Agency’s funding requirements.
Guy has considerable knowledge with regards to providing new social housing and has expanded his field of expertise to encapsulate the design, detailing and the usability of homes.
Ian is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor who has extensive experience of working with registered social landlords and specialises in new build housing for rent and sale.
His particular expertise is in the administration of multi-million pound developments including wheelchair, elderly and special needs units, procured on a design and build or partnering basis. .
Jacqui is a Quantity Surveyor and Employer’s Agent who specialises in housing of all tenure types and has extensive experience in the administration of multi-million pound contracts for Consortia and individual RP and Local Authority Clients.
Jacqui’s experience encompasses new build and refurbishment schemes incorporating wheelchair and supported/special needs housing as well as Listed Buildings and developments within the leisure and health care sectors.
Jeremy is a Chartered Building Surveyor with over twenty years’ experience in the construction industry.
Jeremy is an Associate of the Institution of Fire Engineers and is accredited to undertake EWS1 inspections on calfordseaden appointed schemes, heading up our in-house Technical Support Team.
Jeremy is an Equity Partner of the Practice and a Chartered Building Surveyor with over 28 years’ experience and provides the services of Project Manager, Client Representative and Employer’s Agent.
His ongoing relationship with numerous clients is a testimony to his ability to provide an outstanding level of service.
Joe is an Equity Partner and Chartered Building Surveyor, with more than 35 years in the industry, Joe heads up calfordseaden’s Business Development and Land Finding service.
His multi sector experience is instrumental in his ability to identify and put together viable and cost effective development opportunities for clients
Jonathan is a Chartered Building Surveyor. Jonathan has experience in new build and refurbishment projects incorporating housing, education, hotels, charitable, commercial uses, stadiums and airline catering facilities. He has worked on complicated smaller scale and multi-site schemes as well as large multi phased regeneration projects.
Lee is a Chartered Building Surveyor and specialises in the management and delivery of new build and fit-out projects for both private and public sector clients including educational, Trusts and Charities.

Maz is a development engineering professional qualified in both Civil Engineering (BSc Eng) and Water Resources Engineering (MSc Eng, PG Dip). Maz has over 18 years’ experience in the infrastructure design and management of major development projects, ensuring the best design solutions are achieved whilst maintaining the key design concept throughout the project life cycle by resolving buildability, safety, cost and programme. Maz has had a key role in projects involving design for infrastructures, flood risk assessment, flood mitigation, environment impact assessment and has a key expertise to find simple solutions to unlock difficult sites for developments.
Michael is a Partner and Chartered Project Manager at calfordseaden. Used to leading both internal and project teams, Michael has excellent project management skills which ensures that he is able to motivate teams to focus on achieving success on projects, whilst creating a collaborative environment.
Michael is a Chartered Building Surveyor and has extensive experience in all aspects of surveying work and acts as Lead Consultant, Expert Witness, Technical Advisor, Designer, Contract Administrator and Project Manager on new build, refurbishment and maintenance projects.
Neil is an Equity Partner of the Practice and a Chartered Building Surveyor, Employer’s Agent and Project Manager.
Neil heads up our Birmingham office and works closely with all the Surveying teams, overseeing each project to ensure Client satisfaction and resolving day to day issues.
Neil is also involved with strategic advisory work for a wide variety of Clients, drawing upon the resources of all Surveying teams as appropriate, at implementation stage.
Nicholas is a Chartered Building Surveyor and heads up our Hampshire office.
Nicholas’ focus is in the Project Management and Building Surveying facets of the Employer’s Agent role.
He has acquired an in depth knowledge of Homes England requirements and is innovative, proactive and tenacious in establishing best value solutions for clients.
Paul is a qualified lift engineer with over 35 years experience, and he heads up the Lift Consultancy team.
Services provided include Management, Surveys, Design and Commissioning for all types of Transportation.
Paul is a Clerk of Works and member of the Institute of Clerk of Works and Construction Inspectorate (MICWCI).
Paul oversees the delivery of Clerk of Works and Site Inspection Services for the Practice. He is responsible for ensuring the workmanship and overall quality of standards on projects are in full compliance with the Contract, Client Brief requirements and current legislation.
Paul is a Chartered Building Surveyor and a Partner.
In addition to the provision of specialist services, including pre aquisition building surveys for a range of property types, dilapidations and subsequent negotiations, assessment reports and negotiations for retail, commercial and industrial units, Party Wall Matters, preparing Schedules of Works, Contract Administration and Defect Analysis / Diagnosis on a range of property types.
Paul also provides Expert Witness Reports for a range of construction related disputes as well as undertaking technical reviews of contractors proposals on behalf of clients and subsequently monitoring works on site.
In the capacity of Managing Partner of the Practice, Paul specialises in large-scale redevelopment schemes and has extensive experience of mixed tenure and mixed-use new build and redevelopment schemes, varying in size and complexity.
Richard is a Partner and Senior Building Surveyor who has over 25 years’ experience and provides the services of Employer’s Agent, Project Manager and Party Wall Surveyor.
Richard has a range of experience dealing with Design & Build Contracts acting as Employer’s Agent/Project Manager on new build housing and education projects, covering pre and post contract duties to end of defects and agreement of Final Accounts. He also acts as Contract Administrator for a number of public sector Clients.
Richard is an Equity Partner and Senior Building Surveyor with over 20 years’ experience. Services provided by Richard’s team include Party Wall matters and Expert Witness work. In addition the team undertakes defects analysis, dilapidations advice, fire insurance valuations, planned preventative maintenance surveys, as well as running refurbishment/repair projects for a wide variety of clients and building types.
Richard heads up the M&E team in our Birmingham office. He has strong collective experience across building services project management, contracting and consulting engineering, working within many sectors, with a particular focus on residential, industrial and healthcare. Richard’s extensive experience allows him to engage with client teams in a non-technical way to offer flexible solutions that meet the brief and affordability requirements.
Rizwan is a highly driven environmentally conscious Architect. He has led the delivery of complex, high profile design-led commercial projects in the energy, power & process, hospitality, retail, community, mixed-use, government, residential, commercial, education and transportation sectors. In doing so, he has kept to strict timelines and budgets, and to the required high quality all the way from enquiry, inception to construction completion and handover.
Ross is a Partner and a Chartered Building Surveyor. Ross has been with calfordseaden for over 20 years and manages all new build residential schemes from our Birmingham office.
Ross works on a variety of new build and refurbishment schemes throughout the country for private and public sector clients.
He has been involved in all aspects of building surveying, survey work and contract administration for schemes ranging between £1m and £40m. Ross has also been involved in a number of partnering contracts for social housing clients.
Simon experience and expertise in the construction and property industry includes leading mechanical and engineering teams on new build, refurbishment and maintenance schemes.
In addition to the traditional mechanical, electrical and public health engineering services, Simon manages a comprehensive range of specialist service’s covering fire safety, domestic gas heating and hot water, lifts and escalators, security systems and water hygiene.
Simon is a Partner within the practice and a Chartered Building Surveyor.
Simon has over 20 years’ experience and is a MRICS qualified Project Manager specialising in leading the delivery of projects within the residential, student accommodation and retail sectors. He is adept at Project Managing schemes for a wide variety of Clients focussing on their key drivers for successful delivery.
Simon has extensive experience in new build social housing having worked with many registered social landlords on schemes across London and the South East, on mixed use schemes up to £400m in value.
Steve is an architect with over 25 years’ experience and has experience working in a variety of sectors, including education, residential, workplace, health, transport and retail. He has led Architectural practices, including securing work, managing clients, leading project teams and has been involved in all facets of company management. Steve’s main skill set is based on securing work, client liaison and managing practice work flows.
Steven is a Partner and Chartered Quantity Surveyor with over 30 years’ experience. He is a professional, commercial and astute manager who is by nature an integrative leader and uses persuasion coupled with fact to achieve outcomes in a client’s best interest.
Tim Jackson is a Partner and Chartered Building Surveyor at calfordseaden with over 20 years’ experience in the industry. Tim heads up calfordseaden’s Clerk of Works service, and is responsible for identifying and managing resources for Clerk of Works commissions, overseeing and reviewing projects.
In 2019, Tim was accepted as an Associate Member of the Institution of Fire Engineers. As an advocate for improved passive fire protection in the industry, Tim is well equipped to provide insight into the impact of current regulation and how to address fire risk on buildings. Tim is keen to share his knowledge in order to push the sector forward and regularly presents seminars focusing on Fire Safety to equip industry members with the tools to drive positive change.
Tim is a chartered architect with over 20 years’ experience delivering services across a variety of sectors.
He leads the Architectural division in our Birmingham office and is responsible for delivering several framework agreements.
He has undertaken a large number of listed buildings and conservation schemes. Tim sits on the Design Review Committee for LB Southwark and is a visiting lecturer at De Montfort University and The Bartlett School of Architecture.
Trevor is a Partner and a Chartered Building Surveyor. Trevor acts as Contract Administrator and Employer’s Agent across various Contracts for residential, commercial and industrial buildings and deals with Party Wall Matters.
Trevor is responsible for undertaking building surveys of residential and large commercial/industrial buildings, for the preparation of reports, providing expert advice concerning building defects and the specification and administration of subsequent repair works. He also specialises in the contract administration for the repair, refurbishment and modernisation of large residential housing projects understanding the intricacy of administering resident in-situ contracts.
