Angela Lemon, Partner at calfordseaden, re-joined the Practice in January 1994 after eight years away and has recently celebrated her 30^th anniversary with us. Angela has progressed from an Assistant to Partner and Group Leader. Join us in hearing from Angela as we celebrate this significant milestone in her career!

Industry Developments

With over 40 years’ experience in the construction industry, there has been a significant progression across the construction landscape, calfordseaden, and in the role as an Employer’s Agent.

Since re-joining in 1994, there has been an increase in the scale of affordable housing projects. This has been a positive development as it provides much needed housing and stability for communities and its residents.

Growth of calfordseaden

calfordseaden has also significantly grown during the past 30 years, with the opening of offices in Winchester, Birmingham, London, Essex, and Cambridge. New staff, services, and areas of expertise have been introduced to the company, which has seen us become of the UK’s leading multi-disciplinary consultancies.

Role of an Employer’s Agent

The role of an Employer’s Agent has evolved over time. The introduction of new regulations, in areas such as fire safety and building safety, has meant that there has been an increase in scope of work and expertise for an Employer’s Agent. This is pivotal as one of the primary responsibilities of an Employer’s Agent is to ensure collaboration from all areas of the project team, which is the aspect of the role I enjoy the most.

I have had the great pleasure of having forged many links and built up, and maintained strong relationships with a significant number of clients, developers, and fellow professionals over the years, built on the foundation of calfordseaden’s core values, in particular those of integrity, and striving for excellence.

Inspiring Women in Construction

Personally, I am proud to have acted as a mentor to female colleagues, who have progressed to become Associates and Partners. Inspiring the next generation of women in construction has been one of my biggest achievements and I hope my journey over the past 40 years in the industry has provided a reference point for those who aspire to have a prolonged and successful career in construction.
