Beatrice Omisakin Mentor Workshop

Beatrice Omisakin recently visited St Paul’s Academy in South London to deliver an interactive workshop to two classes of Year 10 students, as part of the school’s Aspirations Day.

Beatrice’s engaging workshop focused on ‘Tools to Harness Success in Your Career’, emphasising how a positive mindset, emotional intelligence, and effective communication can help build healthy adult relationships.

The session began with Beatrice sharing her academic background, her journey into construction industry, her role as a Senior Building Surveyor, how key influences and mentors helped her throughout her career so far, and how she balances her work and personal life.

Following some icebreakers, students participated in a scenario-based exercise where they analysed the language used between two people to identify the nature of their relationship. This task equipped students with an understanding of how language and emotional awareness can shape interactions, which can be useful in both their careers and personal lives.
