Here at calfordseaden, collaboration is at the heart of everything we do. We recognise the importance of fostering an inclusive environment that encourages and promotes diversity of thought. We work collaboratively with colleagues, our clients, industry professionals and professional networks to raise the profile of diversity and inclusivity within the industry.
As part of our commitment to strengthening diversity through strong partnerships, we have become members of Inclusive Employers, the UK’s first and leading diversity and inclusion membership organisation for employers looking to build inclusive workplaces. This partnership will allow us to connect with other sectors to support our journey of inclusivity.
Inclusive Employers run National Inclusion Week in September each year. This year, we celebrated by getting involved in several different initiatives, from encouraging employees to share their thoughts via a feedback form, to setting up a Diversity and Inclusion Champion programme. Our volunteer D&I Champions will work closely with our HR team and their own individual teams to help promote, celebrate, and raise awareness of diversity and inclusion within calfordseaden.
We have also recently become members of the BPIC Network, a built environment inclusion business working with industry organisations to improve ethnic minority representation as well as retention. We are committed to BPIC’s vision and look forward to working closely with the team to facilitate careers in construction and improve diversification in the industry.
With the digital transformation of the industry and to help bridge the construction skills gaps, we are also looking forward to inspiring the next generation of trainees and graduates in careers from surveying to engineering. By volunteering with local schools, in the areas we operate in, will allow us to welcome young people into our industry from diverse backgrounds and ensure we are able to create a sustainable and efficient workforce of the future.
