We wish to congratulate Clerk of Works Team Leader Mark Read on his election as President Elect by the Institute of Clerk of Works and Construction Inspectorate (ICWCI.)
The ICWCI is a professional body that supports quality construction through inspection. They aim to provide a support network of meeting centres, technical advice, publication and events to keep members updated with changes in the industry.
In his new role, Mark will be positioned on the management board and will play an active role in supporting the current president. His responsibilities will include: actioning and managing deliverables, responding to correspondence, effectively liaising with fellow directors, members and HQ staff, and attending various meetings.
One of Mark’s key focuses as President Elect will be around promoting apprenticeships and training, in order to encourage younger people to join the industry and profession. This is an area that calfordseaden is very passionate about, and we actively work to attract more apprentices and graduates into the profession and provide them with the valuable training and support they need.
Following a management board meeting, it was agreed that due to Covid-19, and the impact that this will have on limiting presidential duties, the current president will fulfil their role for an extra year, with Mark being promoted to president after his 2nd year as President Elect.
