Celebrating Completion at Corbens Place Phase 1

Celebrating Completion at Corbens Place Phase 1

Laura Chester and Ian Collins joined Councillor Stuart Jeffery, Leader of Maidstone Borough Council, Councillor Simon Wales, Cabinet Member for Housing and Homelessness, and the Skillcrown team to cut the ribbon at Len Martin Court, Corbens Place.

Our Employer’s Agent and Clerk of Works services supported the successful delivery of 24 affordable one- and two-bedroom apartments. Len Martin Court forms part of a collaborative partnership with Skillcrown, Maidstone Borough Council, and calfordseaden to deliver high-quality housing for Maidstone residents.

The development is located on Corbens Place, a road associated with Corbens Builders, a well-known local contractor that operated across Maidstone and the surrounding area. Ian’s grandfather, Len Martin, worked for Corbens Builders as a Master Carpenter during the 1960s and 1970s and was a long-standing resident of the Borough, as was his family. When discussions began around naming the new apartment building, Ian proposed honouring his grandfather’s contribution to the local community and construction industry.

Congratulations to everyone involved, we look forward to continuing to support the delivery of new affordable housing in Maidstone alongside our partners.
