Finley’s Work Experience Week

We had the pleasure of welcoming Finley from St Simon Stock Catholic School to calfordseaden for work experience. Finley spent time with our Quantity Surveyors and Fire Safety team throughout the week.

Finley gained experience in cost estimating, cost reporting, and reviewing project documentation to assess pricing accuracy. He also explored Fire Safety Engineering through using PyroSim software, where he created his own fire simulation, learning how technology supports fire safety in building design.

“Immediately into my work experience I felt like a part of the team, and I feel like I settled in very well to the new working environment. My favourite day was when I went on a site visit, which involved examining the work that has been done as well as a meeting with other people to do a recap of what has been completed and what else is to be changed. I felt a lot more confident as the week went on and really enjoyed my time with calfordseaden, I met some amazing people and gained some really valuable experience.” – Finley
