Leigh-on-Sea home to striking new private development

Leigh-on-Sea home to striking new private development

calfordseaden has completed works on the new private development in Leigh-on-Sea. This new development provides eight, four and five bedroom family homes in one of the UK’s most coveted locations.

calfordseaden was appointed on the Greencourt project in 2014 to provide employer’s agent, cost consultant and CDM services. The scheme is located on a former tennis complex and sits between two residential streets. The project was initially met with opposition from neighbours, arguing the new properties would overlook their existing homes. After positive and engaging consultations with neighbours and the wider community, the project was approved and work began on site.

The design of the eight homes did not follow traditional housing architecture and the complex design of the homes provided a challenging environment to work in. Alongside this, there were numerous and intricate changes throughout the post-contract phase, including the re-design of all eight houses from semi-detached to detached.

During construction of the new homes, the Client requested the addition of a further unit be built after purchasing land adjacent to the site whilst works were underway.

Despite these challenges, works have been completed and handover of Greencourt took place earlier this month and the new homes are now ready for their new residents.
