calfordseaden partners Dennis Croft and John Spence of calfordseaden were among the guests of Bracknell Forest Homes at the official opening of Clement House.
Opened by The Countess of Wessex the extra care scheme designed by calfordseaden was highly praised by Caroline Titley Chief Executive of BFH, new residents and their families.
The scheme provides 65 flats over 5 floors which are built around an atrium. The atrium cover is a lightweight membrane ETFE roof which gives a wonderful communal facility for all residents and after the opening there was a tea dance within the atrium.
The building also has a generous entrance hall, as well as communal services including a café, dining room, lounges, hairdressing salon, hobbies room, library and IT suite.
The scheme was designed in Revit and was informed by our in-house engineers. The benefit of Revit allows us to create virtual buildings which can be seen from the computer generated image seen above, compared to the actual finished building below.
This stunning new building is designed for over 55s independent living and is the first of its type in the local area.
Our radical design fully embraces the HAPPI 2 report to provide flexible and adaptable housing to Code Level 4. We have also been able to exploit the sloping nature of the site to incorporate landscaped roof gardens. This project was a finalist in the ‘BIM Project of the Year’ category at the Constructing Excellence Awards.
