Praise for senior living project Clement House

calfordseaden provided architecture, M&E design and sustainability services for Clement House, an extra care scheme in Bracknell.

John Spence and Dennis Croft attended the official opening of Clement House last summer, which was opened by the Countess of Wessex. John and the team have since shared the design concept and images of Clement House with two extra care professionals at West Kent Housing Association, Emma Kent and Fraser Ward who asked for a visit. See below to find out their thoughts of the scheme.

Emma Kent: “I don’t know where to start with the atrium, it really is a show stopper! I can imagine residents stepping outside their front doors on a summer evening, with the stars shining through, the glow of the street lights enjoying a glass of something or just having a cup of tea and catching up with friends and neighbours. To me, Clement House really captures the essence of what extra care housing is all about; inclusive design, flexible space to support peoples individual tastes and lifestyles and an opportunity to enjoy retirement living.”

Fraser Ward: “The design of Clement House is a fresh and innovative take on the design of extra care housing. The atrium design brings a real sense of community to the building and I can see many benefits to the residents and staff at Clement House. The atrium concept is something we will now consider for our next extra care project.”
