Welcome Back Arpit Patel

We are delighted to welcome back Arpit Patel to calfordseaden! Arpit recently re-joined the Practice after a brief time away, and we spoke to him to learn more about his experiences during that period, why he decided to come back, and his goals for the future.

My Time Away

“I left to gain experience in the private sector, focusing on high-end residential projects for private clients. My role was primarily cost consultant-focused, where I ensured the cost viability of projects, prepared cost estimates, and monitored budgets throughout the project lifecycle.

However, I didn’t feel the same sense of fulfilment completing private sector projects as I did when delivering affordable housing schemes at calfordseaden. There’s a unique satisfaction that comes from helping deliver much-needed social housing and knowing that the homes contribute to the community. I realised that my passion and strengths lie within the public sector, which is why I was motivated to return. Additionally, the opportunity at calfordseaden to work across both the private and public sectors offers the perfect balance, which was another key reason for my decision to come back.”

Re-joining calfordseaden

“I wanted to re-join calfordseaden because of the welcoming environment and company culture. At calfordseaden, they put their people first and I wanted to return to somewhere that cares, where I feel valued and to work with colleagues and friends alike. Being familiar with the systems and procedures made the transition seamless.

I am motivated and excited to get back to what I love doing, which is working with my great team to help bring affordable housing projects to life.”

My Role and Current Projects

“As a Senior Employer’s Agent, my role involves helping projects being delivered on time, within budget, and meet the quality standards set out by the client.

I am currently working on exciting developments such as Bow Green, a phased project in East London that will provide new homes on a former gasworks site, and Marian Place, which will deliver 565 new apartments in the heart of Bethnal Green.

Before I left, I had the pleasure to work on the Ark Soane development, which has recently been completed, that provides a new secondary school with new homes. I am looking forward to helping deliver more exciting and unique projects like Ark Soane.”

Goals and Ambitions

“My ambitions for the future include continuing to deliver much-needed affordable housing for local communities and helping calfordseaden continue to enhance the use of technology, especially into Quantity Surveying.”
