calfordseaden was appointed by Maidstone Borough Council for the provision of employer’s agent, cost consultant, clerk of works and principal designer services for the new build development of a 24 hour accessible Innovation Centre, specialising in medical innovation on the KIMS Hospital site in Maidstone.
The 3,310 sqm space is spread over four floors and designed to achieve BREEAM ‘Very Good’ rating. The centre was designed for a range of end users and includes a conference centre, communal showers, roof terrace, hot desk areas, communal meeting rooms, individual workspaces and potential for future workshops along with undercroft parking. The interior includes a feature central atrium and additional lightwells to each wing.
calfordseaden worked with Maidstone Borough Council from concept to completion, including during the selection of the build plot.
