calfordseaden was chosen through a mini competition to act as architects for the redevelopment of a redundant piece of land to the rear of existing properties on Martinshaw Lane in Leicestershire.

This was to be the first housing development to be created by Hinckley & Bosworth Borough Council for over 20 years and the requirement was to maximise the density of the site whilst providing one and two bedroom bungalows set around a village green.

Designs for the dormer bungalows were created using Revit software which enabled 3D views and visualisations to be produced and reviewed with the council and project stakeholders.

The completed designs were for nine dormer bungalows with two bedroom and two wheelchair accessible homes to address the requirements of local residents in regard to this housing type.

We undertook two public consultation events, to explain and demonstrate how the development would sit behind the existing units without encroaching on privacy or light.

The 3D visualisations proved invaluable for exercise and the scheme was submitted for and achieved planning approval. It is currently out to Tender.
