calfordseaden was appointed to provide full Employer’s Agent and Quantity Surveying services, Pre-Contract Architectural and Principal Designer services and Post-Contract Clerk of Works services on this new high-spec residential development.
The scheme consists of the design and development of 22 one bedroom apartments and 8 two bedroom apartments over two blocks and associated external works. One of the main challenges overcome were the change in Employer’s Requirements during the construction thase to a non-combustible façade and the requirement for the contractor to provide an EWS1 form.
There was also an extensive value engineering exercise to counteract the additional spend on the noncombustible façade.
The scheme is a finalist for the Inside Housing Development Awards 2022 (Best Shared Ownership development).
