The design of this development on Peckham Road, created by award-winning architects Peter Barber Architects, required a full layout audit to be undertaken to ensure full compliance with the London Housing Design.

The new housing development comprises a mix of 33 flats and duplexes set over 5 storeys, including 6 units for shared ownership and 2 for affordable rent. The project also included PV, green roofs, and a sprinkler system. The site was previously home to a petrol station and retail units.

calfordseaden attended the design review with both the employer’s technical design panel and resident design panel. We coordinated the required changes to the approved layouts to ensure full compliance with all parties’ requirements for funding and the employer’s board approval. We negotiated the build costs and amendments to the costs both pre- and post-contract to comply with the outcomes of the design panel meetings. Our team prepared employer’s requirements to be included in bespoke turnkey development agreement.

Our Employer’s Agent and Clerk of Works held monthly progress meetings, reviewed the drawings thoroughly for compliance, coordinated the samples and prepared finishes schedules for both the sales and rented units, and coordinated the inspections for both PC and legal completions.
